YAG Recruitment

Be part of the change:

Join our Youth Ambassadors’ Group

Young people’s mental health matters, and to truly support it, we need to understand what’s driving the decline in young people’s mental health and wellbeing.

At Prevention United, we’re working to address the root causes of youth mental health challenges, from school pressure and social media, to cost of living and inequality. Our work centres around two big questions:

  • What’s causing the increase in mental health conditions among young people?
  • How can we work together to shift this and better support young people’s mental health and wellbeing?

To find the answers, we partner with young people through our Youth Ambassadors’ Group (YAG). Together, we work side by side to shape policy, share lived experiences, amplify the voices of young people, and co-design real solutions to the issues that matters most to young people.

To participate you will need to:

  • Be aged 16 – 21 and live in Victoria.
  • Be interested in shaping your own future.
  • Come to a 3-hour meeting, once per month on a weekday evening, in person in Melbourne.
  • Be able to commit to the entire term of the group, from Jan 2026 – December 2026.

In exchange, you will get:

  • Reimbursements for your time and effort.
  • Free snacks at every meeting.
  • Training opportunities to help you build a career in the not-for-profit and/or advocacy space.
  • Opportunities to influence our work and advocate to governments about the future of youth mental health.
